  3. any type of markers, crayons, or color pencils to add some color.

At home Geometry City Map Project

Tap your child’s inner creativity with this easy to do at home project in which they will learn, use, or reinforce important Geometry concepts in Fourth Grade. With this project they will get to practice drawing the different types of lines they learned about in 4th grade in forms of streets, as well as applying other important topics such as perimeter and area. Depending on your child this project could take up to 3 hours. It is not meant to be completed in one sitting.



This project is completely aligned to what your child has learned in school!

According to learning standards, children in Fourth Grade will learn the following:

Common Core:

Draw points, lines, line segments, rays, angles (right, acute, obtuse), and perpendicular and parallel lines. Identify these in two-dimensional figures.

Classify two-dimensional figures based on the presence or absence of parallel or perpendicular lines, or the presence or absence of angles of a specified size. Recognize right triangles as a category, and identify right triangles.

Texas TEKS:

4.6B:  identify points, lines, line segments, rays, angles, and perpendicular and parallel lines.

4.6C:  apply knowledge of right angles to identify acute, right, and obtuse triangles.
